I use Aweber and therefore you might be skeptical as I
also makes use of Aweber’s referral program to market
Aweber especially to business owners.

If you are building your business and you get to the
point where you have to delete thousands of leads or
run the risk of loosing everything - what would you do?

I got rid of over 7000 mailing list subscribers and
I am glad I did it.

If you don’t understand let me explain using the
short version.

Read the long version:
kill your mailing list. (opens in a new window)

You need 3 things to promote a successful email campaign:

1) You need an email management service

2) You need a secure management service

3) You need a high delivery rate

Most already know that you need an email management service
because a domain based script gets blacklisted way too soon
to make it a viable option. With the current strict
anti-spam response against spam, some hosting companies
like HostGator will close your website down faster
than you might be able to say “SPAM”.

With a reputable email management service you don’t carry
the risk as they normally host their own servers and have
a support structure handling any SPAM complaints they
might receive.

Secondly, security has been known to be compromised on
shared hosting that many people use when using an online
script. When their mailing list is open for view by anyone
the subscribers usually get spammed so much that most of
them not used to SPAM just close the email account and get
a new one. That give you zero access to market your product
or follow up on product inquiries.

And last, but not least - in fact the most important fact
so many email marketers seems to get wrong in the beginning
- is that your emails sent out, has to pass email filters,
has to be delivered and has to be read to be involved in the
statistics you have to keep to evaluate your conversion
rates.

You might have an absolute amazing sales letter but if it
doesn’t reach the subscriber you have a chance of - let me
see - just about zero percent that that subscriber will act
on the email.

Most email marketers also start off building huge lists
and then at some stage have to switch over to a business
such as Aweber to handle their mailinglist campaigns to
increase the delivery rate.

If you don’t see the importance of this you might rather
want to consider doing something else than getting involved
in email marketing at all.
